刘向东,男,汉族,1965年8月生,福建仙游人,群众,博士研究生学历,教授,博、硕导。

个人简介
广东省教学名师, 教育部“高等学校青年教师教学科研奖励计划”(“高等青年教师奖”)和霍英东教育基金获得者。现任广东省植物分子育种重点实验室副主任、亚热带农业生物资源保护与利用国家重点实验室稻种资源保护与利用课题组组长(PI)、作物学科带头人。先后在香港大学和丹麦皇家兽医与农业大学从事高级访问学者研究工作。主要从事稻种资源(野生稻)保护和创新等研究工作,主攻新型四倍体水稻创建及其利用的关键技术和理论研究。主持8项国家自然科学基金、2项广东省自然科学基金重点项目和其他多项省部科研项目。在新型四倍体水稻新种质创制及生殖遗传等方面取得进展,创建了50 多份特异同源四倍体水稻新种质,培育出新型四倍体水稻(Neo-tetraploid rice),其中2份获得国家植物新品种权;建立WE-CLSM(whole-mount eosin B-staining confocal laser scanning microscopy)技术。迄今获得广东省科学技术奖一等奖1项(参加)和三等奖2项(主持);在Plant Physiology和Crop Sci等刊物发表论文120 多篇,出版专著和教材4部。
